400IM Specsavers Series

There was an excellent win in the 16 and over age group for Courtney Butcher in the 400m individual medley event of the Specsavers Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club. Looking strong throughout, and taking advantage of her technical skills in all four strokes, she touched in 5.12.18. The fastest swim of the day from the men coming from Oliver Nightingale who recorded 5.13.68.

It was left to the Barracuda Masters to produce record breaking times, with David Aslett and Richard Nash, both finishing inside the previous mark in their age group, touching in 6.04.69 and 6.51.93 respectively. Peter Frankland gained maximum points in his age group posting a great time 6.03.80,

The 14/15 title for the boys went to Will Russell in a 4 second personal best of 5.18.00. Toby Fitzgerald placed second with a personal best of over 42 seconds – 5.18.49. The 14/15 girls title went to Sophie de la Mare in a great time of 5.24.54.

In the 12/13 age group Tatiana Tostevin placed first in 6.06.62 with second placed Ingrid Morley also having a great swim of 6.35.64 as she competing in this gruelling event for the first time. Tom Stapley placed first in the boy’s 12/13 age group in 6.02.67

This is the last event in the Series for 2015. Points will now be collated with swimmers receiving age group prizes together with the overall Championship awards.
