800 & 1500m Specsavers Series

Tatiana Tostevin (12 years) Orla Rabey and Sophie de la Mare both 14 years and Annalise Munro were all in record breaking form as they finished inside the championship age group records in the 800m Championships staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club.

Improving on her personal best by over 51 seconds and breaking the record by 2 seconds, Tatiana posted a great time of 11.03.54. Orla also obliterated the record in the 14 year age group to set a new mark of 9.42.20. Also finishing inside the record and having to settle for second place was Sophie de la Mare with a great time of 9.43.75.

Fastest time of the day overall went to Annalise Munro in 9.28.29 which was also a new record. Ailish Rabey won the youngest age group for the 11 year olds in 11.40.52 which was a Hampshire County base qualifying time.

The victor in the Masters section was Jacqui Hunt in another record time of 11.18.76 1500m

A 7.15am start did not deter the eager Barracudas distance swimmers from competing in the annual 1500m Championships. 14 year old Louis Tostevin and Toby Fitzgerald (15 years) each set new records with Louis improving on his personal best by over 53 seconds to record 19.20.35. He knocked over 14 seconds off the record previously held by Joshua Thornton. Toby Fitzgerald obliterated the record for the 15 year olds with his time of 18.49.24, with second placed Joshua Thornton also well inside the record.

Oliver Nightingale recorded the fastest time of the day of 17.19.85, whilst the youngest age group (13 years) was won by Tom Stapley in a great swim of 21.46.15.

David Aslett took the Masters title in 21.24.20
