Specsavers Series 2015 – 400m Freestyle

Annalise Munro recorded the fastest time of the day in the 400m event of the Specsavers Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club, posting 4.36.71. Fastest time of the day from the boys was from Will Russell who touched in a great personal best by over 17 seconds – 4.29.02.

7.13.22 earned Gabrielle Wilcox, the gold medal in the 9 years age group. This was the first time that she had competed in this distance and looked technically strong. In second place was Sze Lam Chung also in an excellent time of 7.16.50. The boys 9 years title went to a brilliant effort from Jack Dowinton who touched in 7.30.55.

In the 10 year age group, the victors were Oriana Rabey and Rory McKenna who recorded 6.12.13 and 6.19.72 respectively, with both improving on their personal bests by over 59 seconds!

Ailish Rabey – 11 years, pulled out all the stops and took the title from Pip Gallagher in 5.31.46. The boys in this age group had a good race with Jake Williams holding on to the lead from Peter Birch, to finish well clear in 5.49.79 – over 24 seconds better than his entered time.

Sophie Wilcox and Tom Stapley were the victors in the 12/13 age group and touched in 5.05.46 and 5.03.92 respectively.

Orla Rabey secured the 14/15 title with 4.53.19, with top time in the 16+ age group going to Tom Hollingsworth.

There were some huge personal best times throughout the age groups with the Barracudas really rising to the 16 length challenge. The Masters were no exception with Ian Hubert, Jacqueline Hunt,

William Ferguson, Jennifer Roussel and Nick Moss winning their age groups. The age group swimmer showing the greatest improvement was Jemima Green in the 10 year age group who improved by over 85 seconds!
