100IM & 200 Fly

Orla Rabey and Will Russell both competing in the 14/15 year age group recorded the fastest times of the day in the 100m individual medley event of the Beau Sejour Barracudas’ Specsavers Series. Both recorded lifetime bests of 1.15.19 and 1.04.84 respectively.

The honours in the youngest age group – 9 years went to Gabrielle Wilcox who recorded a great time of 1.45.16 and Oliver Graham who recorded a first time swim of 1.45.84.

Oriana Wheeler and Xander Graham scored maximum points for the 10 year olds, recording 1.29.70 and 1.33.60 respectively, whilst Molly Staples and John Welbourne won the 11 year age group recording 1.25.56 and 1.27.25.

There was a clear winner in the 12/13 age group with Sophie Wilcox taking first place in 1.15.39. The boys title in this age group going to a good swim by Max Gill, again well ahead of the field in 1.16.17. The 16+ titles went to Jonathon Beck and Ellen Morley both posting personal bests of 1.16.67 and 1.08.45.

The Masters section saw Tim Lowe, Jo Winberg and Richard Nash win their respective age groups.

200m Butterfly

The senior swimmers competing over the gruelling 200m butterfly saw Orla Rabey (14/15 years) again the fastest of the day in 2.51.27 whilst Masters competitor Ian Hubert was overall fastest for the men in 2.25.45.

There were some huge personal best times throughout the age groups, but especially in the 12/13 category. Tom Stapley looked strong as he took the title with a personal best time by over 12 seconds of 3.06.59 with the girls’ title going to Sophie Wilcox with a superb effort of 2.59.76.

A great win in the boys 14/15 age group went to Henry Cliff who improved on his personal best by over 12 seconds to record 2.42.89. Ellen Morley and Lewis Winberg won the 16+ category in 2.58.15 and 2.45.48.

Finally Alexis Mansell and Jo Winberg put in a huge effort to win their Master’s age groups in 3.17.09 and 3.19.77.
